Hello,
I am looking to get my husband a rod for Christmas and was wonder what kind would suit him best. He loves to salmon/steelhead fish in creeks and rivers. Mostly off the bank. He like medium/heavy polls.
What do you suggest?

if he is drift fishing, you cant beat the exs96l.
Do you know if he fishes with flies, roe (bait) or crankbaits? Is it in the great lakes or west coast? These qyestions will help me help you.
Thanks

The XMG 50 EXC 89 MT would be a good all around rod for drift fishing from the bank. Might be a little heavy for small steelhead and a little light for really big salmon, but it'll fit right in the middle. Personally, I think its Lamiglas' best all around drift rod.
"Ain't no head like steelhead"
Hello,
Either the EXC 89 MT or the X 89 MTC would be both great choices. The EXC is made of a better grade of graphite this will give this model a little added sensitivity as well as make the rod a little lighter weight. Hope this helps.
