xmg 50 96L

Looking for advice for a steelhead spinning rod. I want to be able to throw spoons and spinners up to 1/2oz, drift some bait and maybe a little bobber fishing. Is the xmg 50 96L too light for these applications? I usually run 8lb maxima green.

It would be a awesome bobber

It would be a awesome bobber rod and light weight drift rod. It is a little lighter the I would like for spinners and spoons. For spinners and spoons I would look in to the EXS 92 M. This would be a better choice. Hope this helps have a great day.
