I have built 9 foot surf plugging rods over the years and they work well, using lamiglas blanks. For along time, I've wanted to build a 10 foot plugging rod when a little more distance is needed.
What blank do you recommend ? Other pluggers have built a Ron Arra 1204 (XRA) and like it. I'm concerned about the faster taper since I'm hearing of more rods breaking in the tip section of this XRA1204 blank. I'm looking for a blank that has a more moderate to slow action versus the fast action of the XRA1204 blank. Perhaaps the GSB 120 1L. What is the weight of the 120 1L and what is it actually rated to throw in ounces?
Thanks for any suggestions and answers to the above questiuons.

I think the GSB121L would work great for you. The weight is 6 3/8oz. It is rated 2-4oz but the sweet spot is probably about 2 3/4oz.
