Hi everyone...
I'm new to rod building as of very recently...have only done repairs in past...you don't get to pick where they go
...just replace them...so my experience level is close to zero...
So now that you know what type of brain this question came from...
I just bought a "Tri-Flex" blank...would like to see it and use it without any paint/color covering up the
layers of material (perhaps with a clear coat of Polyurithane)...is this possible/advisable ?
I'm thinking that I could use paint thinner/remover to get the paint off and then, in one direction only
and with the length not across the blank, lightly sand with 600 grit wet/dry sand paper...and then clear
coat it...
If there is anyone out there who has experience with this and knows that it would not hurt the blank
could you tell me A. how you removed the paint and B. did you sand it after...
Any and all feedback welcome...
