I am going up to Alaska again and debating buying a new Lamiglass flyrod. I need a rod that is tough. Reds in the Kenai have detroyed more rods than i can count. It does not need any casting qualities as you flip for them not cast. I am going to get a 9 or 10wt. How durable is the G-200? any read difference between that and the G1000 in durability? Thanks for your help!

The G1000 rods are a bit more durable and a bit more powerful. The G200 rods will do the job just not quite as well.

With regard to fly rods, I have used a G200 for years with better success than many of the so called "elite" rod names. (believe me when I say I have tried most or all.) This past season I finally broke the rod after a split shot came back an hit the rod. It broke shortly after when trying to land a fish.
So, down to the local shop and I picked up a shiny new lamiglas fly rod that was a little longer (9' 10") and a little faster. Seemed like a good idea.
First fish - wham, the rod breaks in 3 parts. Back down to the local shop and they gladly replaced with another G200, which lastly nicely the rest of the season.
Question on this new rod which I think was an SI, is the rod going to be beefed up to stand up to Kenai sockeye or did I get a bad one to try. I don't dip preferring the sport of fly fishing for the sockeye but I still will take 75 of so sockeye in the season. Can this rod be expected to stand up to these conditions? Meaning? Out of consideration to other fisher-persons, you cannot let out too much line or waste time getting the fish in because if you do, you are interfering with others.
I also use lamiglas for my spinning and casting needs and for all of my guests (which strangely enough come in the summers).

I have a G1323 and its nice for fiesty steelhead and salmon so i would prefer the G1323
The Si rod that you had tried and broke was a design flaw on that specific rod. We under estimated the amount of use and abuse that sockeye fishery can put on a rod. We just got back all of the rods we sent up there and have redesigned that rod specifically. I would reccomend buying another one and fishing it with confidence as the new design will be a pleasure to fish with. Hope this helps.
