I'm a "newbie"!

Just dropping a note as a "newbie" saying HELLO to everyone!

I took the plunge and purchased the BL 7030C to use on Blackfish (Tautog). Regrettably, I winterized the boat for the season before getting a chance to "wet" the rod and see how it performs. I see it's a popular rod for these fish.

But will break it out next year before the blackfish season closes here in Long Island Sound (CT).

I'm also looking to get a conventional rod to use for Striped Bass. It will be used for live lining and chunking.

Any suggestions?

Look forward to hear from you experts!

The BL7040 is a nice rod It

The BL7040 is a nice rod It doubles as a good Cod rod. I prefer the BL7025C for live lining.

I would think the 7025 would

I would think the 7025 would be "on the light side" for live lining for Striped Bass/ Bluefish?

The 7030C I want to use for Blackfish seems "minimum" if used for Bass/Blues?
