Im looking to buy a new XMG 50 10'6" 6-12 spinning rod for float fishing for steelhead. Would this be a decent rod for casting spinners for coho and kings on the Olympic Pen. I use a northwest special 10-20 spinning rod for it now but its kinda hard to throw spinners a long way with a short rod. Any reviews on this rod would be very helpful.

This model will for sure give you a little better castability. In my opinion though I would much rather have a little shorter rod for fishing spinners. I think you lose a little contact in what the blade is doing. for fishing spoons a longer rod is great. I have fished this model a lot with floats. I love the rod. Hope this helps have a great day.
