Building a surf rod for sturgeon game at Bonnerville Dam

Thinking about getting this blank XRA 132 2-2 and extend another foot to make it 12 foot rod for casting 6oz. From the spec, it says lure 1-5, not sure the blank can handle 6oz casting for >115 yards target (working on my skill to get archive a range 120-150 yards :-) ). Please advice.
If not, any other recommend blank rod? I also have have an eye on SSU 132 2MH blank but it has 4-8 lure...scare it's too stiff???

If you were to just fish the blank without extending it you would not have a problem. Once you extend it this will put undo stress on the top of the rod. I would not recommend doing this. If you are looking at extending a rod I would stick with a one piece blank. The GSB 132 1M or the GSB 132 1L keep in mind also that when you extend the blank it does void the warranty. Hope this helps have a great day.
