4 pc Travel Surf/Spin Rod

I'm working on designing a 4 pc. travel spin/surf rod using the International Graphite Surf ISU1322MH blank and have a few questions:

1. What is the distance from the butt to the 2 pc ferrule on the blank?
2. Where should I make the 2 new cuts and add the new ferrules? I don't want any lengths longer than 36".
3. Do you know of any other type of ferrule other than the metal ferrules that can be bought online?
4. Suggestions on spin guide sizes and placement.

Thanks

1. 2. If you were to cut it

1. 2. If you were to cut it you would want to make your cuts at 36" from the tip and 36" down from the tip of the butt If you are using spigot ferrules. If you are using metal ferrules you will have to get the blank and ferrules and plan it out. I will warn you that ferruling graphite blank that does not have ferrules will surely fail on use. The fibers are all running longitudinally and will split out if you spigot ferrule. and graphite does not like metal ferrules and almost always brakes in front of or behind the ferrule. I like to tinker and make things others don't offer also and do so in vain often. Just thought you should know what you are looking at.
3. Spigot ferrules can be made from old chunks of heavy rod.
4. Guide spacing is going to very a bunch when you make it a 2 pc and you will probably want to base it on the finished blank.

Would a fiberglass blank like

Would a fiberglass blank like the SB1362M or 3M work better with ferrules?
