Does Lamiglass still make the 10 1/2 ft medium XMG. I was sliver fishing on the Cowlitz last October and hooked and landed a 50 + pound chrome hatchery king (I have pictures). It was at night and we all thought it was a 20 lb. because it came right in until my buddy tried to net it. It wouldn't fit and ended up breaking my rod below the insert. This is the best rod I have ever owned and wouldn't trade it for anything. I haven't fished because it is broken and now I have time again. I don't know why everyone calls these Lamisnaps because this rod has been a workhorse when used properly. Please tell me these rods still exist.

The EXS 106 ML is the only 10 ft 6 in rod I'm aware of, there was the EXC and I think EXS 10 M, 10 ft rods. They are all fairly recent designs, call them, send the rod in for repair.
With a fish that large and with the tension necessary to hold the fish for the small net any shock from the fish flopping on the line or the net against the taut line could cause the rod to break, but for a once in a lifetime fish and experience, so be it I say.
This is just a forum, not their business contact point. Warranty is top right on the site with all the info you need.
Good luck to you, I also use the XMG blanks in many forms with zero failures. If your interested in building a 10 ft. 6 in. MH version, there may still be some that went out about 15 months ago still around in someone's blank collection.
Many try to compare the XMG blanks to IMX from the other guys. IMX has been around for 30 years and about 10 mil modulus lower the Lamiglas XMG, IMX is pretty much the same graphite as the IM700 salmon/steelhead blanks Lamiglas used to make. XMG graphite is much closer modulus wise to GLX. It is however used differently. I own two GLX rods, a 6 weight fly and 7 ft 4 power popping rod, both have seen repair or replacement far more than all the Lamiglas rods I own combined.
The question is, "Do you want a performance oriented rod that once in a while fails, or a durable rod? You can't have both so choose."
No one knows as much as all of us.
