I have been asked to build a 10ft cranking rod for a guy who wants to use it for cranking walleye, trout etc
I have found in the past the only rods that are offered in that length are usually salmon/ steelhead rods? I'm concerned that rods of that legnth will have soft tips and weak butt sections for pulling large crainkbaits and achieving good hooksets. Any advice that you can offer regarding a good blank in the 10ft range that offers the sensitive tip to observe the action of the crankbait and has a stiff buttsection. I was thinking of trying a XSH120 2M OR 2MT

Hello
I would run the XSH 120 2MT for sure. This blank will have more then enough power. With a fast enough tip section. Hope this helps.
