I posted the spinning rods post and have got 0 replies s I am posting again. I have 3 spinning reels. They are as follows. 1 Shimano sahara 750, 1 shimano symetre 750 and 1 shimano symetre 2500. I use 6 pound test mono on the 750 reels and 10 pound test mono on the 2500 reel. I might drop down to 4 and 8 pound test mono on them though. I use Berkley Trilene XL. I am open to your recommendations on better line to. My current rods are two 4'6 1 piece ultralight shakespeare ugly sticks and one 6'6 1 piece medium all star select. I use a cork bobber, two splitshots and a baitkeeper hook on all of my rods. When I am on lake st clair or lake erie I drophot and for that I use pretied leaders with baitkeeper hooks and a quickconnect swivel with a dropshot weight on it. You can recommend other companies rods and reels to. I am open to your recommendations. People tell me go with G.Loomis, St.Croix, Lamiglas, Fenwick and even Shimano for rods and for reels they tell me to go with Daiwa, Pflueger, Quantum, Peen and even higher priced Shimano reels. Im just looking for something extremely durable and lightweight to be able to fish all day and for the rod to have plenty of power to set the hook on fish and to fish the fish. Im looking for 2 ultralights and 2 mediumlights. ! piece is preferred but I could try a 2 piece rod. The 2 piece rods I use to have always came apart when I would cast and some people told me to use candel wax where the two pieces slide into eachother and they wouldnt slip out anymore. I dont know if that is true cause I never tried it. The rods broke before I could. I also am wondering what brand grease and oil I should be using on my reels. I have been told reelx, corrosion x, hot sauce by quantum, reel butter by ardent, blue daiwa grease, oust met-ol, rem oil for guns, yellow and red rocket fuel, cals grease and even shimano draggrease and there new permalube wghich is very expensive. Ive even been told to use yamaha marine gear grease for boats. Im just trying to findout what the best is and what will make my reels smooth as silk and last forever. Please reply and thanks again in advance.

Hello
First off sorry for the delay on getting back to you. I do not know a ton about what grease would be the best for your reel you might call Ollie Damons and ask them there number is 1-503-232-3193
I can help you with Rod selection though. If you are wanting to stick with a one piece model the only option that would be close will be the XL 702 S this is a 7' 4-10# rating. You could get a lot lighter duty rod if you are ok with 2 piece models. Under our web page in the Freshwater section the G 1000 Graphite spinning models. There are 7 different models depending on length. All would fit your need's.
Hope this helps have a great day.
