I was able to get a new Excel XL663C yesterday. It was well worth the wait. I wanted a target topwater rod for Pop R style baits, jerkbaits and the smaller sammy type baits. This rod is extremely light and balances well with a Revo SX. The flex characteristics are spot on. It loads with the lighter baits far better than I expected and it makes walking baits a breeze. I can easily see this rod being used to throw the 1/8 Speed Traps, 100 series Bandits or similar baits. My nephew has very little experience with baitcasting gear and was casting and working baits like a pro in no time. Very nice stick.
